Launch of UN Net Zero Facility and Re-Planet Capital Fund Ecosystem.

The launch of the UN Net Zero Facility and Re-Planet Fund Ecosystem marks a transformative milestone in climate action and sustainable development Held in Room XVIII of the United Nations Headquarters in Geneva, this event brought together a diverse assembly of experts, leaders, investors, and partners, all committed to supporting this unique initiative.

Mrs. Zoritsa Urosevic, Executive Director of UNWTO, set the stage for the day’s proceedings, introducing the UN Net Zero Facility and Re-Planet Fund Ecosystem. Ms. Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of UNOG, followed by delivering compelling opening remarks.

The agenda featured insightful presentations and discussions led by notable Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili, UNWTO Secretary-General who shared the important link between climate tourism. This was followed by a statement by Mr. Paul Walentynowicz, Head of Re-Planet capital fundraising coordination, which showcased the importance of the Re-Planet Ecosystem and the role of its partners.

Celebrate the inclusion of Glasgow Declaration in the Global Climate Action Portal of UNFCCC.

UNWTO convened today leading signatories of the Glasgow Declaration to demonstrate for tourism progress on the COP28 theme (Unite.Act.Deliver.)

Only together we can advance climate action in the tourism sector. Joined by the President of UNWTO’s General Assembly, the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States, Iberostar Group, Radisson Hotel Group, the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance and NOAH, the panel showcased fundamental actions to accelerate the Net Zero transformation of hospitality; discussed circular economy as a strategic climate action strategy; reflected on the importance of engaging the supply chain to catalyse progress, as well as on the need to drive the demand for sustainable travel and to unlock finance.

2023 Saudi French Maritime Symposium (Business France)

capitalize on this alignment by taking proactive measures to foster robust and sustainable trade cooperation in order to also strengthen Franco-Saudi relations in this area. Business France recently organized the “French Saudi Maritime Days” symposium in Alkhobar, under the patronage of the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) and the French Embassy in Saudi Arabia.

Business France is responsible for fostering export growth and facilitating international investment in France.

Exchanges on the contribution of French companies to the transformation of Saudi Arabia into a logistics hub between Asia, Africa and Europe as part of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 were held at the symposium. Ludovic Pouille, the French ambassador to the Kingdom, inaugurated the event and said relations between the Kingdom and France were historic and expanding to cover all sectors. He added: “France is a global maritime player of the 21st century. It is present on board the oceans and we are the second largest maritime power in the world.
